Check in
Begin by asking how each person is doing before discussing the scene.
Kink Collective framework
MITPISA is a shorthand framework for pickup-play negotiation—designed to help partners check in clearly before, during, and after an interaction.
Begin by asking how each person is doing before discussing the scene.
Am I okay with marks? If so, where?
Are there any injuries or illnesses that would prevent us from playing safely?
Are there triggers I should know about? What might pull you out of your headspace? What tones of voice are okay? How much time do we each have?
How close can someone be? Can they touch you with their hands or whole body? How close do you want to be? Who else should be considered in relation to what happens?
How should we interact, and at what intensity?
Agree on safety communication. Is sex on the table, and what would that mean? How sensual or sexual should the scene be? Discuss safewords such as Red, Yellow, Blue, Mercy, or Mayday; safety calls; alcohol or other mood-altering substances; and sensory sensitivities involving sight, sound, touch, or smell.
Is there anything else each person should know? Have you eaten or used the bathroom? What aftercare is wanted, and how will you check in two or three days later?
