Essential event rules

Studio125 Event Rules

These rules apply across Studio125 events. Read the full event listing, know your limits, and participate at your own risk.

01

Consent Always

Ask first. Only a clear yes means yes. No means no. Nudity is not consent. Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time. A maybe is not permission. You may ask once more later, but do not pester, pressure, or follow someone who has declined. If you mean to say no but don't want to hurt someone's feelings, don't say maybe. It's misleading. When you mean to say no, simply say no politely.

02

House Safewords and Signals

Yellow means check in. Red means stop immediately. Nonverbal cues count too. When someone may be unable to speak, negotiate a clear safety signal before play begins. Studio125 has items that may help with this; ask staff if you need them.

03

People Before Kink

Roles and titles do not create hierarchy in our space. Dominant, submissive, Master, slave, Daddy, little, top, bottom, switch, or any other identity applies only within a negotiated relationship or scene. Treat everyone equally.

04

Communicate Outside the Play Area

Scene negotiations and general conversations belong in the social lounge areas. • Keep voices low. • Do not hold conversations beside active scenes. • Step outside the front door to make phone calls. • Keep the play area focused on play.

05

Phones, Photos, and Privacy

No phone use in active play areas. Photos require: • Consent from everyone who may appear. • A Dungeon Monitor present. • A clear background that does not expose other guests. No secret recording, livestreaming, or outing another person's attendance.

06

Cleanliness and Safety

Clean equipment before and after use. You do not know who used it before you. • Use barriers or chux pads where required. • Dispose of trash properly. • Leave equipment ready for the next guest. • Notify staff before edge play or an activity that is new to you. This may include suspension, fire, intense impact, or other higher-risk activities.

07

Sexual Activity

Sexual activity may only happen during a negotiated scene when permitted by the event. Use a chux pad beneath yourself during sexual or fluid-producing play. When no sex has been negotiated, that boundary is absolute for the entire scene. • No pushing. • No hinting. • No attempting to expand the agreement. • No renegotiating sex after the scene has begun.

08

Dungeon Monitors and Staff

Dungeon Monitors and staff support safety, consent, and the proper use of the space. They may observe, check in on, pause, or stop a scene when there is a safety or consent concern. Follow staff and Dungeon Monitor directions.

09

Respect Scenes in Progress

Do not interrupt, step into, crowd, or disturb an active scene. Do not touch: • Participants. • Equipment. • Restraints. • Implements. • Scene belongings. Wait until the scene and immediate aftercare have ended before approaching. Get eye contact from the Top of that specific scene and confirmation before approaching.

10

Triggers and Emotional Safety

A trigger is something that causes a strong or sudden emotional reaction. Kink environments may include intense sights, sounds, language, roles, activities, or emotional energy. You are responsible for recognizing when something is affecting you and taking steps to care for yourself. If you feel triggered: • Remove yourself from the immediate area. • Do not interrupt or enter the scene. • Move to a quieter or designated social space. • Ask a friend, host, Dungeon Monitor, or staff member for support. • Raise your hand or clearly ask for help when you need immediate assistance. • Communicate when you need space, water, quiet, or help leaving the environment. Being triggered does not automatically mean another person has violated a rule. When the reaction involves unwanted contact, a crossed boundary, harassment, or a consent concern, report it directly to staff. Do not use being triggered as permission to threaten, shame, confront, or control another guest. Your reaction deserves care. How you respond to that reaction remains your responsibility. Studio125 staff may help you step away, find support, or address an underlying consent or conduct concern.

11

You Are Responsible For

Take responsibility for yourself and maintain safety, consent, and respectful behavior. We are adults and responsible for ourselves. You are also responsible for the behavior of any guest you bring. • Be honest about your experience. • Be clear about what you want. • Remove yourself when you become overwhelmed or triggered. • Ask staff for help when needed. • Report consent, conduct, or safety concerns directly to us. • Do not attempt to manage a serious concern alone.

12

Conduct and Final Authority

The following are not welcome: • Violence or threats. • Harassment or intimidation. • Repeated boundary pushing. • Kink shaming. • Discriminatory behavior. • Rumor spreading or ongoing interpersonal drama. • Unsafe or inappropriate conduct. • Refusal to follow staff instructions. Studio125 staff and the event host have the final say. When you are unsure, ask. Be nice, be polite, don't take yourself too seriously, and have fun.
